NELLIE BORRERO —a first-generation Latina— has been a voice for change and an unwavering leader committed to advancing inclusion, diversity, equity and equality for more than three decades. After joining Accenture in 1986, she created the first role for diversity efforts and is now Accenture’s global inclusion & diversity senior strategic advisor. Under Borrero’s pioneering leadership Accenture underwent a profound transformation in its approach to inclusion and diversity (I&D). She steered the company away from deep-rooted biases, leading Accenture to become the #1 ranked employer for inclusion, diversity, and equity in the United States. She created a global career development program for women, led the strategic positioning of the company’s LGBTQI+ and Persons with Disability agendas and the design of multiple ethnic diversity-focused programs. In 2018 she established Accenture’s Global Inclusion and Diversity market offering practice.
